Spara Capital took part in a student “elevator pitch” competition at Brock University last week known as Monster Pitch. The event, organized by Brock University’s Entrepreneurship Club, featured presentations of business concepts by student finalists and award a prize package of start up advisory services valued at $30,000.
Spara President, Jason Sparaga was joined by CBC Dragon Den’s Bruce Croxon and retired entrepreneur and CEO Global Network Group’s Leader, David Anyon, in judging the pitches and selecting the finalists. The event was attended by some 200 students.
Following solid presentations and intense deliberation, the judges selected Physis Outdoors as the winner. Physis Outdoors is an outdoor adventure company focused introducing metropolitan customers with limited recreation experience to the fun of camping.
Company founders; Kristopher Luey, Christian DiVincenzo and Mathew Grootjen were awarded a unique prize package, valued at $30,000, which included advisory services from leading Canadian firms including; Spara Capital Partners, Phil Lefko/Cognition LLP, Caters Design Group, nGEN and Durward Jones Barkwell & Company.
